penarth.nub.newsPenarth attended a £20 million sheltered homes programme to deliver a new extra-care facility for older people, featuring 70 affordable apartments and on-site care. Construction set to start within the summer of 2024 and planned to run for about two years. The scheme is a joint effort by Vale of Glamorgan Council and Wales & West Housing, with land leased to WWH and funding from the Housing with Care Fund and Welsh Government's Social Housing Grant. Nearby developments improving highway access and 32 affordable independent homes on nearby land. This represents a significant step in helping to address concerns for Penarth.
