Ed Husic, the Australian Industry Minister, criticised Labour’s internal workings after his proposal to allow a debate on recognising Gaza failed to pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said described his outburst at a gathering as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unperturbed by criticism, telling reporters: "put me in a ice box, I don't care at all."
The dispute followed failed attempts to push the party to officially acknowledge events in Gaza as genocide.
Internal papers and internal files were later filed that revealed serious rifts within Labour’s ranks over policy and direction.
