He was taken to hospital and later underwent surgery for a fractured right collarbone, and a small C7 fracture. A plate was used in the clavicle repair. Gresini Racing stated he stayed conscious through the incident. The race was won by Fabio Di Giannantonio. Márquez is expected to miss Mugello and the Balaton races.
